This particular card club kit was very fun simply because of the colors. I've always loved the combination of black and hot pink, it's so sassy! I decided to hop on the popular pennant and banner bandwagon plus I dusted off the ole scalloped edge scissors.
This is such a punk rock Valentine (at least to me) thanks to the hot pink, black, paint splatter paper and glitter. |
This super glittery heart got another blast of glam with a silver gem. I used edge scissors to funk up some black cardstock and used a longer length to ground the banner. |
After attaching all the pennants to the white ribbon I just folded the white ribbon into the card and used glue dots to hold in place. |
This would be a great card for my best friend, she's got a little punk rock in her too! I'll be working on more Valentine's cards all week so don't be a stranger - I'll have lots of new projects! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Scrapping! Candice
Good Morning Candice, Do you know, card making is something I have never done. I can see how it would be fun, to be able to create cards especially for a certain person, like you have with your "punk era card".
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law was a punk rocker in the early 1970's and she used to drive my mother in law to distraction with her pink hair and torn clothes. Now she is the most conservative person I know....how the years change us.
Have a lovely day,
Best Wishes
Daphne
Hi Daphne! I love cards because they're quick, fun & a great way to use up scraps. Wow it sounds like your sister in law had a lot of style! You're right though, time has that affect. I couldn't imagine dressing the way I did in the 90's nwo that I'm 30! LOL! Thanks for the sweet comment & for visiting!
DeleteOh my gosh, this card is just gorgeous! Definitely much more awesome compared to something less personal and more cheesy valentines cards from the shops =)
